Our aim is to use the updated immunological and molecular methods in the diagnosis of different hematological diseases and use target therapy , immune modulators and genetic therapy in management of hematological patients in

  • The field of anemia and bone marrow failure
  • Bleeding disorders and thrombosis
  • Leukemia and other blood malignancies
  • Thalassemia
Researches that are going on in the department
  • Researches for the molecular diagnosis of thalassemia and Philadelphia.
  • Researches for the molecular characteristics of different types of leukemias and how they affect the prognosis and treatment.

The department provides
  • An outpatient clinic and inpatient ward for treatment and follow up of all hematological patients.
  • Laboratory for the diagnosis of anaemia and bone marrow failure (CBC-Retic-Bone marrow aspirate and biopsy-Hb and protein electrophoresis-G6PD assay)
  • Laboratory for coagulation and platelet disorders(PT,PTT, D-dimer, platelet function)
  • Molecular laboratory (PCR-FISH)
  • Cytochemistry laboratory
Future vision
  • Use updated therapies for the treatment of different hematological therapies.
