"From molecular medicine...... to clinical application"

20th - 23rd October, 2009

Dear Colleague ,

On behalf of the staff members of the Medical Research Institute, University of Alexandria, I am privileged to invite you to attend the 15th Annual   “3rdInternational” Conference that will be held from 21st-- 23rd October, 2009 at Sheraton Montazah
As disease is mainly caused by damage at the molecular and cellular levels, therefore this year’s meeting has the theme “Molecular Medicine…to Clinical Application”. The meeting will tackle three main topics: nanotechnology, stem cells and genomics and proteomics.

The ability to see nano-sized materials has opened up a world of possibilities in medicine and a variety of scientific endeavors. Because nanotechnology is essentially a set of techniques that allow manipulation of properties at a very small scale, it can have many applications; such as providing breakthroughs in medical treatments and enhancing the utility of properties in materials.

Stem cells are one of the most fascinating areas of medicine today. But like many expanding fields of scientific inquiry, research on stem cells raises scientific questions as rapidly as it generates new discoveries.

The genomic revolution produced thousands of fully sequenced genomes and has profoundly changed medicine. An array of genomic and proteomic technologies are available to tackle the challenge of addressing new questions. This conference will explore these systems-level questions with particular attention on how genomic and proteomic technologies will evolve in the future.

The venue of this conference is Alexandria “Pearl of the Mediterranean”, Egypt’s prime gate throughout history that prevailed for a long time as the world’s greatest repository of knowledge and exporter of culture. Alexandria has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern; its ambience and culture heritage distance it from the rest of the country.

Your active participation will add much to the value of this international conference.

It is a pleasure to welcome you and we look forward to seeing you in our beloved Alexandria.
