CURRICULUM
| The
curriculum of this program involves lectures on how to implement QMS
from the scratch till reaching a rigid and reliable system , practical
workshops, and simulation training.
(I) LECTURES The lectures will include the steps of planning , implementing, monitoring and improvement of the QMS . Program topics include:

Introduction : • Most frequently used quality definitions. • How to think about doing the right thing right from the first time and every time.
Planning phase: (the process for closing gaps)
Lectures: 1-Establish the strategy (how to write a mission ,vision and do the strategy down to action plan ) 2- Identify the customers i.e (the treasure) 3- Identify the customer needs i.e (the right way to the treasure) 4- Develop the product i.e (the key of the treasure) 5-Determine the process 6-How to transfer planning to operations Practical : 1-How to write a mission , vision, Job descript-xions 2-How to write an action plan 3-How to do focus group technique 4-How to do the nominal group technique. 5-How to use process flow chart (detailed and high level) 6- How to do the SIPOC chart 7-How to design a questionnaire
Implementation phase:(How can you make quality happen) Lectures: 1-How to develop a reliable document control system (Medical record ,policies , procedures , SOPs , Quality manual and record control system) 2-How to overcome the change resistance (How to be the leader of change in your organization) 3-How to develop quality control during the operation (Using feedback loop, the pyramid of control ) 4-How to judge on the process to be under control either statistically or managerially Practical: Hand on training to know how to implement a quality system in your organization from A to Z including; 1-How to write policies , procedures and quality manual 2- How to review the Medical record 3-Statistical
control charts (constructing control charts for variables and
attributes , calculating the limits, judging on the results , how to use
it and when to use it) 4- How to draw the pyramid of control.
Monitoring phase:( the quality eye) Lectures: 1- Audit :(the tool to measure the effectiveness of quality system)
- How to plan for the internal audit efficiently
- How to do the audit using vertical or horizontal approach
- How to analyze the audit results
- How to report the audit results
2-Key performance indicators:
- How to select the indicator
- How to write an indicator statement
- How to test for its validity and reliability
- How to measure and judge on acceptable target
- How to develop a dash board for indicators
Practical: Hand
on training to know how to do the internal audit process in your
organization and to determine the performance indicators for each
sector of your organization including: 1-Preparation of checklist 2-Simulation of audit session 3-Audit findings analysis and preparation of report 4-Indicator determination and analysis of results 5-Stimulation of dashboard model

Lectures:
1- How to select your priorities for improvement . 2- How to develop the improvement team . 3- How to develop the improvement project life cycle. 4- How does the quality improvement aim to reduce deficiencies that create chronic waste. 5- How to determine the cost of poor quality. (How to prove that `Higher quality costs more` is a wrong mangers mindset) 6-How to increase the productivity and efficiency of a process 7 - Some inhibitors of quality improvement 8-Applying lean concepts to eliminate the chronic waste Practical :
Hand on training to know how to improve the performance of your organization including: 1-How to use the pareto chart, prioritization matrix , affinity score matrix to determine the priorities for improvement. 2-How to apply the PDCA cycle 3-How to use value stream map in determination of the waste. 4-How to calculate Productivity and efficiency of a process. 5-Lean concepts application
How to be a manger: (How good is your management skills)
Lectures: 1-Communication skills lessons to be learned 2-What type of leader you should be and how. 3-When and how to use your negotiation skills (mangers should sell not tell) 4- leadership and commitment to quality (including the characteristics of a leaders ) 5-leadership styles, roles and responsibilities
Practical: 1-Problem based learning One problem in each managerial skill raised for discussion and final solution using the problem based learning approach
Safety: Lectures: 1-Risk management concepts 2-The ministry of health standers for patient safety (20 critical points in the ministry of health patient safety standard )
Practical: 1- RCA and FMEA application 2-How to apply the 20 critical ministry of health patient safety standard
Accreditation: 1-ISO 9001:2008 certification Understanding the main clauses of the standard and how to apply 2-Overview of the Egyptian accreditation standards
Practical: How to prepare your checklist based on the ISO 9001:2008 standard
Program instructors: Group of the MRI and certified quality staff with high experience in the field of quality
The program duration: • The program will be given over one year (12 month) • Once /week • 240 tutorial hours /100 practical hours
Teaching methods: • Lectures • Workshops • Focus group work • Field study in the MRI hospital • Graduation field quality project
Evaluation: • The evaluation shall be held after each module with score of 75%: 70% of the total score • Graduation project: 20% of the total score • Attendance percentage shall be 85% from the course duration: 5% of the total score
